Darwin is a private, single-user assistant used only by its owner. It is not offered to the public and no other person can sign in to it.

What Darwin accesses

With the owner's explicit consent, Darwin reads the owner's own Gmail mailboxes using the read-only scope gmail.readonly. It cannot send, modify, label or delete email.

How the data is used

Messages are used only to tell the owner which emails need attention and to summarise them for the owner. Google user data is not used for advertising, is not sold, and is not used to train general-purpose AI models. Darwin's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Storage and sharing

Data is stored only on the owner's private home server, which is not reachable from the internet. It is not shared with third parties. To classify a message, a short excerpt may be sent to an AI model provider (Anthropic) under terms that prohibit using it for training; nothing else leaves the server.

Retention and revocation

Stored messages are deleted automatically after a limited retention period. The owner can revoke Darwin's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions, after which Darwin can no longer read any mailbox.
